Taleshan

Michael Hoshang Momeni

Talesh people were among the original inhabitants of the northern Iranian Plateau, the region adjacent to the Caspian Sea.

People of Talesh County, Gilan Province,  have lived in this region of Iran for over 7000 years.

Light skin, honey-blond hair color, and blue or hazel color eyes are a prevalent characteristic of Taleshan people.

Like their ancestors, agriculture, farming, and fishing are a common practice.
